Every year there will be calls for artists, from all disciplines, who will participate in the NAT Art Residence.
The available places are limited and the total development of the Residence is 13 days.
Space
The residence is based in Tagle, Cantabria, Spain in a house renovated for this purpose. The house has three double-bed bedrooms, a bathroom, a toilet, a kitchen-dining room, a living room, a covered outdoor study, an exhibition room and its own green space.
Our house is located in a wonderful natural environment 700 meters from imposing cliffs and about 1000 meters from Tagle beach. It is located 2 km from Suances and 7 km from the Altamira National Museum in Santillana del Mar.
Sea, beach, cliffs, forests, caves, rivers ... Spaces that will be the perfect inspiration and support framework for your projects.
We have restored the stone house, an old farmhouse of more than 100 years. We have provided it with all the amenities to make it comfortable and to be able to be at ease, enjoy the environment and dedicate yourself exclusively to creating.
Dates
NAT Art Residence will be held between the months of April / July and September / October of each year and the final dates will be published on our website (www.circleproart.com)
Note:
Participants must be available in the city of Santander or at its airport, train or bus station, at 2 pm on the day set for the start.
In order to arrange the return we let you know that we will take you to the city of Santander (or to its airport or train or bus station) at 12 PM on the day indicated as the closing of your stay at the Residence.

The specified price includes:
1) Accommodation: 12 nights’ accommodation in a private room. The house has 3 rooms for individual use and common spaces (kitchen, living room, bathroom, toilet, covered studio, exhibition area and private outdoor green space). The accommodation includes the consumption of electricity, heating and WIFI. It also includes sheets and towels.
Residents will take care of the maintenance and cleaning during their stay. Cleaning supplies, including a dishwasher and a washing machine are provided.
2) Amenities: consisting of kitchen utensils for common use and a supply of:
Tea, coffee, milk, cookies, rice, noodles, olive oil, salt, vinegar, condiments, sugar, sweetener, detergents, and shower gel.
Tap water is drinkable.
Fresh products or those not included in the previous detail will be in charge of each resident.
3) Pick up and transfer of the group from the city of Santander (or its airport, train or bus station) to the Residence on the Monday of the start at 2 pm. Transfer of the group from the Residence to the city of Santander (or its airport, train or bus station) on Saturday, when the Residence ends, at 12 PM. It is the responsibility of residents to be available at the mentioned locations at the pick-up time and to reserve their return tickets after the end time. Transfers outside the mentioned hours (after 2 p.m. on the start day or before 12 p.m. on the end day) will be at their own expense.
4) Visit to the National Museum and Research Center of Altamira and the Neo Cave. Includes transfer, tickets and accompaniment of Andrea Juan & Gabriel Penedo Diego.
5) Two days of visits to the caves with rock art of El Pendo, Las Monedas, El Castillo and Covalanas. Includes transfers, tickets, lunches and full-time accompaniment by Andrea Juan & Gabriel Penedo Diego.
6) The general artistic experience will be in charge of Andrea Juan and Gabriel Penedo Diego who will accompany and guide the residents during the creation process. They will hold regular meetings with them about the evolution and development of the projects.
7) VAT (21%) corresponding to all services provided is included.
Not included
- Air Tickets
- Accommodations outside the period of the Residence.
- Transfers that are not scheduled
- Extra expenses that exceed the contracted services.
- Individual work material.
- Costs for repairs or replacement of elements or belongings due to their misuse.
Particular conditions
NAT Art Residence, hereinafter the Residence will be governed by the following Specific Conditions:
Application for a place: You should complete the registration form on the website.
Applicants must include:
- Personal data.
- A short CV (up to 500 words)
- A brief text about your motivation to carry out the NAT Art Residence.
- 3 images of previous works (low resolution)
- Date for which the place is requested
We will make a preliminary assessment of the candidates, depending on the available places, and we will confirm the requested date or, if it is covered, we will propose you other options.
NOTE: If you have previously participated in another of our art programs it´s no necessary to send your CV, simply complete your personal data, the date of Residence that interests you and your motivation to carry out the residence.
Book a place:
Places are limited, therefore interested persons, once we have agreed on the date of the Residence, they must formalize the reservation of that place.
To reserve this place a payment of € 300.- per person is required.
This payment can be made on our online store through the Place Reservation product using the means of payment available in the store (credit card, Paypal or bank transfer)
Booking Confirmation
After receiving the booking and confirming the payment, the artist will be notified by email of the acceptance of the reservation.
Final Payment
Once the booking confirmation is received, the participant must pay the total amount of the contracted service.
The total payment must be made at least 30 days before the residency begins.
For reservations made within the 30-day period prior to commencement, full payment is required immediately after the reservation is accepted.
Payment can be made through our online store, SM Pro Art Shop, using the access data that has been sent to you when accepting the reservation, through

Note: For payments by bank transfer, please, take note that the amount that must be credited to the SM Pro Art account is the total amount of the product. The expenses and commissions charged by the issuing bank or the correspondent bank are the responsibility of the participant.
The Residence
Each participant must be available at the agreed place in the city of Santander or its airport, train or bus station, on the day set for the start of the Residence at 2 pm to be picked up and transferred to the Art Residence together with all the group.
During your stay at the residence, you´ll visit the National Museum of Altamira and the Caves mentioned before, you will carry out your new project and, at the end of the Residence, you´ll make a final presentation of the work carried out.
Code of co-living: When entering, you must sign the co-living´s code and use of the facilities that you must respect during your stay, not only within the home, studio and green space, but also within public natural areas.
You will also be notified of the rules of use of the existing facilities taking responsibility for any damage caused by non-observance of these rules.
Cancellations and refunds
Place Reservation
We may cancel the reservation made by a participant if full payment has not been received 30 days before the start of the Residence, tacitly understanding the participant's withdrawal.
Given the limited number of places and that the Place Reservation blocks one of those places, 100% of the amount paid, for this concept, will not be reimbursed as long as the withdrawal is tacit or express.
This amount will only be refunded if we cannot confirm your place. In which case this amount will be returned to you using the same payment method that you have used.
Cancellation after payment of the total
Once the reservation is accepted and the total paid, the participant can cancel their attendance with the following penalties:
Up to 30 days before the start date, refund of the total without additional penalties for the loss of the Place Reservation.
After 30 days and even before starting, an additional 20% penalty to the Place Reservation.
Once the service has started, there are no refunds.
Procedure
The withdrawal must be communicated expressly to our email or to our postal address.
The date that will be computed for the purposes of our refund policy will be:
- The acknowledgment of receipt from us in the case of email or
- That of the postmark in the case of postal mail.
Any revision made within the Cancellation Penalty Period, such as a change in the Residency date, is subject to this cancellation policy. Arriving late or leaving a Residence in progress, for any reason, will not result in a refund, and no refunds will be made for any unused portion of a Residence.
SM Pro Art Circle SLU reserves the right to cancel any Residence due to improper enrollment that makes the Residence economically impossible to operate or due to good faith concerns regarding the safety, health or well-being of the participants. If a Residence is canceled prior to commencement, participants will be provided with a full refund of monies paid. Except in the event that the cancellation is due to a significant event that makes it impossible to operate the Residence as planned, in which case participants will be provided with a refund and / or credit for a future Residence equivalent to the amount paid on time. If SM Pro Art Circle cancels the Residency in progress, participants will receive a prorated refund based on the number of days that have not been completed at the Residency. In all cases if SM Pro Art Circle cancels a Residency, it has no responsibility for the expenses, including non-refundable expenses, incurred by the participants in the preparation of a canceled Residency or for any additional arrangements.
Any situation not expressly provided for in these Conditions will be resolved by SM Pro Art Circle in the best possible way and trying to safeguard the interests of all the parties involved.
